In the summer of 1986, a large agency in Grand Prairie, for whom Jim Lawrence and Kathy Myers worked, was sold and moved to Carrollton. Jim and Kathy believed this move would leave a void in the mid-cities area, so they established the Lawrence Insurance Agency, which opened its doors in September of that year.

Several years later, Jim added a partner, Tommy Wright, a life-long resident of Grand Prairie that had been active in real estate, and the agency changed its name to Lawrence & Wright Insurance Agency. This partnership proved to be a good decision and added value to the customers.

In 1988, after Brian Bingham took over Grand Prairie Insurance Agency, his father's 40-year old agency, he merged with Lawrence & Wright Insurance Agency and became a partner.

In the mid 1990's, when Texas was experiencing dramatic workers' compensation premium increases, Jim formed an alliance with Commercial Underwriters of Ft. Worth, who specialized in occupational accident insurance. This alliance provided customers with an affordable alternative and prompted Jim to change the agency's name to Alliance Insurance Services.

In 1998 Jim decided it was in the customer's best interests to broaden the agency's ability to reach more insurance markets and thus formed an additional alliance with Anco Insurance Managers in Bryan TX. This permits Alliance Insurance Services to access literally hundreds of companies to obtain the best product at the best price for our clients and prospects. In January of 1998, contractually we became Anco Alliance Insurance Services. Joining forces with Anco allows Alliance Insurance Services to maintain our autonomy in keeping our high standards for doing business and providing superior service to our clients.

While this may seem like a lot of changes, it was never change for change's sake. Each change enabled us to improve the product and level of service we offer to our clients without sacrificing our professionalism or personal touch with our clients. Jim and Kathy's original motivation proved successful for their customers. More than 20 years later the agency is thriving with 13 employees and locations in Grand Prairie and Lubbock. Our goal is and always has been to remain professional, well-informed agents with the integrity that our clients depend on.
